Tamang Heritage Trek is a newly discovered trekking route in the Langtang region. Trekkers enjoy the natural beauty and cultural riches of the area. The craftsmanship, dress, traditionally built stone households and the beautifully carved wooden porches reflect the solitude and the tranquility of the Himalayan Scenery. The Langtang valley is pertinently called ‘the valley of glaciers" Here, mountain rise, soaring towards the sky. The valley offers pine forest, swift mountain streams, rugged rock and snowcapped peaks, grassy downs and paddocks spread with daisies and wild primal. A variety of sights including Buddhist monasteries, a cheese factory, yaks, glaciers and mountain lakes make this trek an exciting one. This trek offers the experience of being in a typical Sherpa village and many ancient monasteries.

Tamang Heritage Trek starts with a ride from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi and then hike onwards to Gatlang. After the trek of few days, bathing in the hot, healing waters of the natural spring at Tatopani en route from Gatlang to Chilime is an exciting experience. Nagthali used to be a popular meditation center for the local monks and priests. Next is Timure on the old trade route to Tibet. A fort at Rasuwagadi in Timure is a historical reminder of the Nepal-Tibet relations that has existed for many centuries. Briddim, beautiful Tamang village lies on the lap of Langtang Himal; it offers warm cultural hospitality at the home-stays run by community members. Tamang Heritage Trek offers the views of Langtang Lirung (7245m), Langtang Kerung, Chumse Danda ridge (5122m), Jugal Himal, Dorje Lakpa (6789m) Ganesh Himal, Paldor Peak, Shringi Himal, Manaslu and other mountain ranges.
