Mera peak climbing trek begins with the sightseeing tour of the historical Kathmandu city and followed by a short and scenic mountain flight from Kathmandu to Lukla- the gateway of entire Everest region. After landing at the airstrip at Lukla, we start our trek journey that heads through the less crowded terraced landscape and untouched valley as well charming villages of Paiya inhabited by Sherpa people. Then our trek follows through some of the most beautiful habitats towards Panggom valley. Moving further our trek continues through the beautiful untouched valleys of Ningsow, Chetre Khola, Kothe, Thangnag and towards the Khare Camp. We stop at Khare Camp to ensure proper altitude acclimatization to stay active. After that, you will get Pre-climbing training towards Mera Base Camp. Then our trek heads through frozen waterfalls, and amazing glaciers with stunning views of high mountain ranges to reach the Mera High Camp and attempts a final climb to the summit of Mera Central Peak. 
The summit climb day starts early in morning and we approach the summit by the northern route, this involves gradual climb with our properly equipped climbing gears, and taking weather conditions into consideration and follow the footsteps and guidance of our experienced climbing experts towards the summit of Mera Peak. From the summit point of Mera peak, we will able to see the outstanding panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Baruntse, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Cho Oyu, Kangtega, Pumori, Thamasekru and other mighty of peaks in the Everest region. We spend a short time at the summit and descend following the same route back to Khare via Mera base camp. After successful a summit of Mera Peak, our return trek gradually descends through Kothe, Thuli Kharka and via Zatrwa La pass back to Lukla. Then we again take a scenic flight back to Kathmandu.

The categories of accommodation can be easily upgrade or degrade as per preference of yours. During the climbing period of couple of days, there we will set up the tented camps. However, your day on trekking in Everest region will be perfectly complemented by comfortable stay.

Transportation:

The modes of transportation are Roadways and Airways in context of Nepal. Life Himalaya Trekking provides private vehicles as per your number of groups while pickup and drop from the Airport. During your sightseeing tour, there will be best suitable private vehicles as per your number of groups. There is normal aircraft (Twin Otter) both way flights from Kathmandu-Lukla-Kathmandu which contains 35 minute’s short and scenic flight above the Himalayas.

Food and Beverage:

Our package trip of Mera peak climbing includes of all meals i.e. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner during the entire trekking period. You can get any kinds of food and beverage as per your tastes in five star hotels and restaurants in Nepal. You will have dinner and Breakfast at same teahouse where we spent overnight and Lunch will be en-route towards next destination. While on your Mera peak climbing trip, we can enjoy the typical Nepalese cuisine (Dal Bhat and Tarkari) as well as other varieties of tastes such as Tibetan, Continental, Italian, and Indian and so on.  During your breakfast you can enjoy the Masala tea, hot chocolates, breads, omelets, porridge, snacks as well as verities of drinks where you can order as per the menu of lodges and teahouses. Physical Conditions and Experience Required: 

Mera Peak Climbing is a technical adventure activity in Khumbu region of Nepal. Climbing Mera Peak doesn’t require previous mountaineering experience but you must be physically and mentally fit and fine because of its steep climbing and snow covered trekking trial. Before you go to Mera peak climbing, the knowledge upon climates and weather, climbing equipment’s, gears may help you while in this adventurous trip. The trip is very suitable for adventure motivated trekkers who have ability to walk in snows ridges and adventurous trails. Best Season for Mera Peak Climbing:

Peak Climbing in Nepal is seasonal. Basically there are two seasons to plan this trip; spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November).These months are perfect time for this Mera Peak Climbing. During the time weather would be clear, sunny and warm in Himalayas thus you can have clear views of world highest mountains. But some adventure-seeking does like less crowed environment. For those they can choose (December-February) for this trip.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,320 m/4,330 ft.) and transfer to Hotel

For the very first day we happily welcome you at Nepal. At Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport on fresh arrival you will be warmly received and greeted by Life Himalaya Trekking representative and then with transfer to your hotels in the Kathmandu. After checking in your hotel rooms and get refreshed and rest of the day you may have short excursion over the main places of Kathmandu. In evening, you will be introduced with your trek guide and trip briefing session in short at our Life Himalaya Trekking office, Thamel. Then you’ll have the welcome dinner hosted by us at typical Nepalese Restaurant where you would be able to enjoy and taste the Nepalese cuisine. Overnight stay at star rated Hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Sightseeing tour at Kathmandu Valley and trip preparation.

A free day in Kathmandu after your long flight from home countries, after having breakfast at given time our City guide will pick you up for sightseeing tour around Kathmandu which are enlisted in World Heritage Sites in UNISCO including Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swyambhunath Stupa and Kathmandu Durbar square. In evening, you will get a briefing session where our trekking as well climbing guide with a brief information regarding trip and make a trip preparation. Overnight stay at star rated Hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 03: Connect fly to Lukla (2,840 m/ 9,318 ft.)35 min & trek to Paiya (Chutok) (2,730 m/8,957 ft.) 5-6 hrs 

Today we will start our day with an early morning flight to Lukla after breakfast at Hotel. The 35 minutes scenic flight takes us to Tenzing-Hillary Airport at Lukla, the doorway of the Everest region. Here at Lukla we will introduce you to our Porters and crew members. After a short meeting and introduction with the porters, we start our trekking journey through the off-the-beaten trial of Everest region passing jungle trial, cross he Handi Khola following typical Sherpa’s villages, green valley’s towards Surke village. Then we continue our trek with the beautiful view of Kongde Ri and cross the Chutok la before reaching the small settlement of Paiya (Chutok). Overnight stay at teahouse in Paiya (Chutok).

Day 04: Trek from Paiya to Panggom(2,804m/9,200 ft.) 5-6 hrs.

Our day begins after having breakfast at the teahouse. Today our trek goes steep downhill. We cross the beautiful village of Paiya and leave the Khumbu region and entre towards the Hinku valley. From here the trial is slippery until we cross the Kri la pass. We walk through rhododendron and bamboo forests on a narrow mountain trail with the incredible views of mountains. Then we continue our trek to Panggom village where the typical Sherpa’s people used to farming. Overnight stay at teahouse in Panggom.

Day 05: Trek from Panggom to Ningsow (2,863m/9,393 ft.) 4-5 hrs.

Today our day begins after having breakfast house at teahouse. We start trekking through rhododendron and pine forest to cross the Panggom La pass. Then we ascend towards the steady path and able to see the mind blowing views of Mera Peak. Continuing our trek, we cross Peseng Kharka Khola and trek to reach the Ningsow villages od Sherpa’s. Overnight stay at teahouse in Ningsow.

Day 06: Trek from Ningsow to Chhetra Khola (3,122 m/10,243 ft.) 7-8 hrs. 

We take our breakfast at teahouse and continue our trek. Our walk move forward and climb to uphills from Ningsow and descend for a while. Then we climb some more to reach Ramailo Dana from where we can witness the outstanding views of Mera Peak and Salpa. After ascending and descending on our trail, we enter the Makalu Barun National Park. On the way, if we are lucky, we might even come across the elusive Red Panda. Overnight stay at teahouse in Chhetra Khola.

Day 07: Trek from Chhetra Khola to Kothe (3,580 m/11,745 ft.) 6-7 hrs. 

Our day begins after having breakfast at Chhetra Khola. Our walk begins with the green forest walk on steep downhill trial. We walk towards the north on the main trail to Mera Peak. Then we trek towards the Majang Khola, where we merge with another trail which moves alongside the Hinku Khola. Our trail moves straight ahead towards Tashing Ongma. Then after, we continue our trek and cross the bridge over the Sanu Khola before reaching Kothe. Overnight stay at teahouse in Kothe.

Day 08: Trek from Kothe to Thangnag (4,358 m/14298 ft.) 4-5 hrs.

Today our trek started along with the ridge of the Hinku Khola in the shadow of Mera Peak. We take lunch at Gondishung, the summer herders' settlement in the west bank of the Hinku Drangka. Then we pass through the old and ancient Lungsumgba monastery where we can find Mera Peak scripted in rock along with its route to reach Mera. A short walk takes us to Thangnag, which is a temporary summer grazing area with primitive lodges and shops. Overnight stay at teahouse in Thangnag.

Day 09: Trek from Thangnag to Khare Camp (5,045 m/16,552 ft.) 3-5 hrs.

After having breakfast we leave Thangnag and follow the lateral moraine of Dig Glacier to Dig Kharka, which offers spectacular views of Charpate Himal. Then the trail climbs through moraines to the snout of the Hinku Nup and Shar glaciers, and then climbs more steeply to Khare. From here, we can see the northern face of Mera Peak which will be an amazing experience. After lunch we can hike in and around Khare Camp. Overnight stay at teahouse in Khare Camp.

Day 10: Acclimatization day at Khare Camp and Pre-climbing training up to Mera Base Camp (5,350 m/17,552 ft.) 3-4 hrs. 

Today we stop at Khare Camp to ensure proper altitude acclimatization. For staying active is very compulsory as well important on a high altitude trek. Climbing high and sleeping low is considered as good way to acclimatize with your body so that there will not any altitude sickness problems during your trip. Today we will also have basic training to be prepared ourselves better for the Mera Peak climb. Our peak climbing guide will help us for basic climbing techniques and demonstrate the best ways to use our climbing gears like the ice axe, harness, ascender climbing boots and crampons. The training will also include learning the best climbing technique with the rope where we will be pre-climbing training up to Mera Base Camp. Overnight stay at teahouse in Khare Camp.

Day 11: Climb from Khare Camp to Mera High Camp (5,780 m/18,963 ft.) 6-7 hrs. 

Today is the most challenging and adventurous day on our trip. We walk through a boulder-strewn course on a steep trail to reach the Mera Peak Base Camp. From here, we continue further through the Mera La pass to reach the Mera High Camp. Our path is along a rocky trail, which can be hazardous if it has recently snowed, as there are a number of crevasses here. We make our way to the top of the rock band, which is marked by a large cairn. Then we set up a high camp while enjoying excellent views of Mt. Everest, Makalu, and Cho Oyu, the south face of Lhotse, Nuptse, Chamlang and Baruntse. Overnight stay at Camp tent in Mera High Camp.

Day 12: Climb from Mera High Camp to Summit Mera Central (6,661 m/21,854 ft.) and back to Khare Camp (5,045 m/16,552 ft.) 8-9 hrs.

This is a really important day for the expedition. We wake up around 2 in the morning for breakfast. It’s going to be very cold in the beginning but soon we warm up as we continue up the glacier and onto a peculiar ridge. The first rays of the sun hit the big peaks in an amazing red glow. The route is still non-technical as we slowly climb higher into the ever-thinning air. The slope steepens for a section behind the ridge and the summit comes back into view. At the foot of the final steep summit cone, we may use a fixed rope if the climbing leader believes it’s required. The summit is only a few meters away. From the summit, we take in spectacular views of the mighty Himalayas including Mt. Everest (8,848m), Cho-Oyu (8,210m), Lhotse (8,516m), Makalu (8,463m), Kangchenjunga (8,586m), Nuptse (7,855m), Chamlang (7,319m), Baruntse (7 ,129m) and other mighty of peaks in the Everest region. We spend short time at the summit, and then our steps back to the high camp where we rest for a while and descend following the same route back to Khare via Mera base camp. Overnight stay at teahouse in Khare Camp.

Day 13:  Reserve day for Contingency or extra day for summit in case of bad weather. 

There is no guarantee that we will have favorable weather on our planned day for the summit. Therefore, this day is set aside as a contingency in case we are unable to summit the Mera on the desired day due to bad weather conditions or any other unanticipated reason. This day is reserver taking such kinds of risk in our adventurous journey to Mera peak climbing. However, if the trip goes smoothly, this day will not be required.

Day 14: Trek from Khare Camp to Kothe (3,580 m/11,745 ft.) 4-5 hrs.

Our day begins after having breakfast at Khare Camp. We start trekking down on Hinku valley today. We trek from Khare to Kothe along with the same trail we used previously. Then we slowly descend enjoying the breathtaking Himalayan vistas towards the beautiful settlement of Kothe. Kothe is famous for its local homemade delicacies and wines. Overnight stay at teahouse in Kothe.

Day 15: Trek from Kothe to Thuli Kharka (4,320 m/ 14,173 ft.) 5-6 hrs. 

Today we begin our trek to Thuli Kharka after breakfast. Our trial passes through rhododendron forest and goes uphill on very first sections. We climb up and descend, cross several tributaries of the Inkhu Khola before reaching a forked trail nearby Taktho. Then we choose the trail which passes by Chorten after which we walk downhill on a steep trail to reach the Thuli Kharka valley. Overnight stay at teahouse in Thuli Kharka.

Day 16: Trek from Thuli kharka to Lukla (2,840 m/ 9,318 ft.) via Zatrwa La pass (4,610m/ 15,125 ft.) 6-7 hrs. 

Our day begins from Thuli Kharka after having breakfast. We back towards the gate way of Khumbu region- Lukla today. On the way to Lukla, we cross the Zatrwa-La pass at altitude of (4,610m/ 15,125 ft.) above the sea level.  From Zatrwa La pass we walk all the way down to Chutang valley. As soon as we cross the pass, after  2 hours walk we would able to see the view of beautiful Lukla valley which is surrounded by breathtaking views of mountain like Cho Oyu, Kongde Peak, Numbur Himal, Kusum Khangru, and other mighty of peaks. Then we enjoy our last dinner in the Himalayas of Nepal  with our expedition crew members and porters. Overnight stay at teahouse in Lukla.

Day 17:  Fly back to Kathmandu (1,320 m/4,330 ft.) 35 min. and free day. 

Today last day with your Sherpa porter and crew members so, if you are happy with their services you may give them some gratitude. Then we take the earliest possible flight back to Kathmandu with the long-lasting memories of our successful trip completion. We enjoy short and scenic 35 minutes breathtaking flight to Kathmandu. Upon your arrival at domestic Airport in Kathmandu our representative or guide will take you towards your respective hotels where you can relax and take rest. Rest of the day is reserved for your personal activities such as souvenir shopping, massage, city tour and so on. Overnight stay at star rated hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 18:  Farewell and Final Departure.

Today is your final day in Nepal. Your trek guide will transfer you to the International Airport, approx. three hours before prior to your flight schedule with a warm farewell hoping to see you again in Nepal and join our company. If you have much more time and willing about other activities like Rafting, Jungle Safari, Paragliding, and Bungee Jumping, tour in famous cities in Nepal then we will assist you as per your recommendation.
