Mardi Himal is the name of the long rising ridge and its summit (5,588m), that forms the south westerly slope of Mt. Machhapuchhre, immediately below its vertical south face. The Mardi Himal Trek is a newly opened route and hidden treasure in the Annapurna region. Mardi Himal Trekking is one of the short and striking treks suitable for beginners to moderate trekkers including families of minors. This trek is best destination to avoid the crowd. Mardi Himal trek offer imaging view of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre and Manaslu ranges. Mardi Himal base camp, Jhinu Hot Spring and Ghandruk village are the major attraction of this trek. Mardi Himal Trek is about long trip in the Himalayas with magnificent views of snowy peaks through small Nepali villages. During the trek green forests, commercially pristine typical villages, Himalayan birds, wild and domesticated animals, Yak herder's traditional huts, distant views of horizon and smiling local people are always around you. Mardi Himal Trek takes you via some of the interesting villages and will give you chances to experience how people live in the remote areas of Nepal.

The trek starts at Kande after an hour driving from Pokhara. The trail is good, first gradually up, then a moment steeper to Australian Camp (2060m ), then after that faintly downhill to Pothana (1950m) then up again to Deurali (2100m). There is a trail through jungle, at first up then rolling on the top of a ridge, there is a section just over half way where the trail drops steeply and then slowly gains height and then back onto the edge and into Forest Camp (2600m). The trail is primarily quite steep leaving Forest Camp but soon gets less sheer as you again get upon the ridge. The trail leaves Low Camp again in jungle, but the trees soon start to get smaller and after about one hours trekking broke out of the jungle and onto the open ridge with mighty views of Machhapuchhre ahead and Annapurna South. Continuing trekking along the ridge for another few hours to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4500m) and returning to High Camp makes a long day but there is also a viewpoint about half way for imaging view. Afterwards we return all the way down to Forest camp. When we arrive to Forest Camp, we trek to Jhinu Hot spring where you can reconnoiter at natural hot spring via Landruk. After this, you will end your trek at Nayapul via Ghandruk village which is one of the popular Gurung villages in this region.
