Kathmandu Shivapuri Chisapani Hiking takes you so near to nature immediately exposing a typical rural Nepal with a magnificent view of different Himalayan range. The trek route passes through Shivapuri National Park which is home for many species of birds, animals, flora and fauna. A great array of butterflies, bird species, rare animals whose life is under threat such as jungle cat, sloth bear, leopard, monkeys etc. are found in the park. The trek to Shivapuri provides wonderful and amazing views of Kathmandu Valley from the peak of Shivapuri edge. The Park is sandwiched between the temperate and subtropical climate area which is also rich in wild lives and plants with oak, pine and rhododendron as well as many varieties of orchids and mushrooms. Kathmandu Shivapuri Chisapani Hiking starts with a drive to Sundarijal. From Sundarijal we start our trek passing through the Shivapuri national park. The trail continues up the hill through dense forest and natural eye catching landscape. We pass through many small settlements of Gurung and Tamang People and explore their cultural lifestyle. Passing through the village of Mulkharka we descend down the trail to reach Chisapani (2300m). After a night stay at Chisapani, we trek down through another side of Shivapuri National Park to Budanilkantha. Then we drive back to Kathmandu.
Day 01: Today we drive towards Sundarijal, the starting point of our trek. We start hiking up from Sundarijal passing through Tamang villages, dense forest, beautiful landscape, Mountain View and cultural people to reach village of Mulkharka. After an hour rest at Mulkharka we make our way the trail to reach Chisapani. Stay overnight at lodge in Chisapani.
Day 02: Early in the morning after breakfast, we explore the places around Chisapani and enjoy the panoramic views of mountains around Chisapani. Then we make our way down the trail through the other less marked side of Shivapuri national park and small villages and reach Budanilkantha. Then we drive back to Kathmandu.
