Kalapathar Trek journey begins with a sightseeing of world heritage sites listed in UNISCO i.e. Pashupatinath temple, Monkey temple, Boudhanath stupa and Kathmandu Durbar square at Kathmandu valley. We take a scenic short flight about 35 minutes from Kathmandu to gateway town to Everest at Lukla. Our trek starts from Lukla following ancient route towards a beautiful Sherpa village of Phakding, Monjo and Jorsalle and Dudh Koshi River to reach famous Namche Bazar. After proper rest with acclimatization we will be heading towards higher elevation following beautiful woodlands of rhododendron and oaks forest to famous village of Tengboche. The trials leads you to Pangboche and towards Dingboche where you will be rewarded with spectacular views of Mt. Everest, Amadablam, Lhoste, Thamasekru, Kwangde and so many others. Then we follow the route through Lubuche, Gorak Shep to our final destination Everest Base Camp. Next, we climb the outstanding view point of Kalapathar also a highest point of the trek to explore the 360 degree panoramic views of Himalayan vistas with a vibrant sunrise and sunsets. Then we descend to Pheriche, Tengboche, Namche, Monjo to and end our trek at Lukla. After mesmerizing moments on Everest Base Camp trek, we take a scenic flight return Kathmandu and explore the world heritage sites of Bhaktapur and Patan Durbar Square.

Brief itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel (1,360 m/ 4,461 ft).

Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla (2,810m/ 9,219 ft) Trek to Phakding (2,640 m/ 8,661 ft). (14 km, 4-5 hr) 

Day 04: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazar (3,440 m/ 11,286 ft).(12 km,5-6 hr)

Day 05: Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion.

Day 06: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche(3870 m/ 12,696 ft). (10 km, 5-6 hr)

Day 07: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360 m/ 14,304) .(10.8 km,4-5 hr

Day 08: Rest day at Dingboche for acclimatization and excursion.

Day 09:  Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,940 m/ 16,207 ft). (11 km, 6-7 hr)

Day 10: Trek Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,170 m/ 16,961 ft) & trek to Everest Base camp (5,363 m/ 17,595 ft).(8 km, 5-6 hr) return to Gorakshep - 06 hrs.

Day 11: Trek from Gorak Shep, Kala Patthar (5,545 m/ 18,192 ft) to Pheriche (4,280 m/ 14,041 ft). (18 km,6-7 hr).

Day 12: Trek to Tengboche (3870 m/ 12,696 ft)  - 05 hrs.

Day 13: Trek to Monjo 2,860m (2,835 m/9,301 ft.) - 06 hrs.

Day 14: Trek to Lukla (2,810 m/ 9,219 ft.)- 04 hrs.

Day 15: Fly back to Kathmandu (1,360 m/4,461 ft.)  and transfer to respective hotels.

Day 16: In Kathmandu free day with sightseeing tour.

Day 17: International departure for home ward bound.

Note: Each day trekkers have to trek maximum 05-07 hours which is about 10 km-14 km per day.  If you don’t want to take this sightseeing tour over Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Patan, we will be flexible on our tailor made itinerary. This Kalapathar Everest trek itinerary is custom design for those trekkers who do not want to bear any risk while travelling. Sometimes the Lukla flight may cancel due to climate and weather condition so, taking care of such risks we have planned this itinerary and added an option day in second last day of your trip to Everest region. Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

At Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport on fresh arrival where you will be warmly received by Life Himalaya Trekking staff and then with transfer to your hotels in the hub of Kathmandu city, after refreshment our guide / leader will brief you on Everest Base Camp trekking with other related information, includes welcome dinner in a nice Nepali restaurant with culture programs.

Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.

A free day in Kathmandu after your long flight from home countries, morning tour of Kathmandu at places of interest around world heritage sites with time in the afternoon and preparations for Everest base camp trek.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla 2,830 m & trek to Phakding 2,640 m - 04 hrs.

Mornings, a short scenic flight to Lukla with views of mountain range, on reaching Lukla and with short refreshment break, starting the first day walk towards Phakding village for overnight stop through farm villages, a moderate walk with few short ups overlooking beautiful scenery along the route to Phakding located by Dudh Kosi river.

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m - 05 hrs.

After a nice morning, walk continues crossing bridges over Dudh Kosi River passing several interesting villages of Toc-Toc, Bhenkar and Monjo arriving at Sagarmatha National Park entrance gate, from here on the river bed for few hours and after the last bridge a steep uphill to Namche Bazaar, at Namche with facilities of good restaurant, pubs, cyber café, post office, and banks.

Day 05: Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion.

An ideal and perfect place for rest with acclimatization day, before heading higher altitude area, morning a short hike to Everest View Hotel or walk up on top a hill of Namche for views of Everest, Amadablam and adjoining peaks, visit the museum.

Day 06: Trek to Thyangboche 3,867 m - 05hrs.

From Namche on gradual scenic path with downhill to Imjatse river at Phunge-Tenga for lunch, and then uphill through rhododendron, pines, firs tree forest with views of snowcapped peaks.

On reaching Thyangboche visit famous Buddhist monastery with magnificent panorama of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Kangtenga, Thamasarku, Kwande and majestic Amadablam.

Day 07: Trek to Dingboche 4,260 m - 05hrs.

Morning downhill walk for few hours over Imjatse River, after the bridge walk on an open country where tree lines fades for few short juniper and  dwarf rhododendron bushes, uphill for a while to reach at Pangboche village at 3,900 meters. Last permanent village before Dingboche and beyond, from here a slow climb to Somara for lunch and continue walk with climb to Dingboche village for overnight stop, located in Imjatse valley with panorama of mountains.

Day 08: Rest day at Dingboche for acclimatization and excursion.

Another rest day for proper acclimatization, a short hike to Nakarjung hills for best views of Mt. Makalu and other adjoining.

Day 09: Trek to Lobuche 4,930 m - 05 hrs.

After a great rest at Dingboche morning walk with steep climb for an hour commanding excellent views, and then on gentle trail to Thugla for lunch where Khumbu glacier melts into a raging river, here trail from Pheriche joins after a break a steep climb for an hour to Thulga pass, with stone memorials of unfortunate climbers who died climbing Mt. Everest, Lhotse and other high mountains. From here a nice pleasant walk brings to Lobuche for overnight stop.

Day 10: Trek to Gorak Shep 5,170 m and Everest Base Camp 5,364 m and return to Gorakshep - 06 hrs.

Today reach the highlight of this adventure at Everest Base Camp, walk for few hours with short steep climb in between over glacier and moraine, reaching Gorakshep, beneath Mt. Pumori and Kalapathar.

Walk continues towards Everest Base Camp, at base camp enjoy the view of Khumbu Ice Fall and glaciers, after a lifetime experience return back to Gorakshep for overnight stop.

Day 11: Hike to Kalapathar5,545 m trek to Pheriche 4,240m - 05 hrs.

Early morning hike on top Kalapathar at 5,545 meters, highest point of this adventure, offering incredible views of mountains including Mt. Everest at close distance, after a great moment return to Gorakshep for breakfast and continue walk to Thugla, and then downhill to Pheriche windy valley after a nice pleasant walk reaching at Pheriche for overnight stop.

Day 12: Trek to Thyangboche - 05 hrs.

Return journey much easier on losing heights every few hours, walking downhill with few short ups to Pangboche and then to the bridge with two 2 hours climb to Thyangboche for overnight stop.

Day 13: Trek to Monjo 2,860m - 06 hrs.

After a great time descend to Imjatse River, with steep climb for an hour to Sanasa, from here on gradual path with short ups and downs to Namche Bazaar, a break here and then walk back to Dudh Kosi river valley and to Monjo for overnight stop.

Day 14: Trek to Lukla - 04 hrs.

Morning walk to Phakding from here a pleasant walk back to Luklawith last climb, on reaching Lukla celebrate last night dinner with fellow trekkers and staff.

Day 15: Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.

From Lukla taking an early morning flight back to Kathmandu with views of mountains, at Kathmandu domestic airport our staff transfers you back to respective hotels with rest of the day free at leisure.

Day 16: In Kathmandu free day with sightseeing tour.

We reserve this day in Kathmandu as spare day in case of flight delay and cancellation in Lukla, due to bad weather which might happen sometimes, as the Himalayan weather can be unpredictable if all goes according to our program, enjoy a free day with sightseeing tour of Kathmandu-Patan and Bhaktapur.

Day 17: International departure homeward bound.

Last day in amazing Nepal and its massive Himalaya, after a memorable and fantastic adventure Everest Base Camp trekking, Life Himalaya staff transfer you to Kathmandu international airport for your flight back home or to next respective countries.
