Overview:

Island Peak climbing with Everest Base Camp Trek is a prime attraction of many trekkers who want to gain spectacular lifetime experience in the Himalayas of Nepal. This fabulous trip is physically challenging however, rewarding you with a fantastic sense of achievements of lifetime. This trip takes you not only towards renowned Everest Base Camp and Kalapathar but also Island peak climbing in Everest region in one single trip. This classical trip may provide a real taste of Himalayas including Mt. Everest, Makalu, Nuptse, Lhoste, Ama Dablam, Pumori, Thamasekru, Kwangde and mighty of peaks right in front of our eyes. 

According to Himalayan standard, there are about 1,310 climbing peaks in Nepal above 5,500 where Island peak (6,189 m/ 20,305 ft.) is most popular peak climbing in heartland of Everest region with remarkable and highly glaciated west face that rises from Lhoste glacier. Island Peak is also known as Imja Tse lying in between the peaks of Ama Dablam and Lhoste on the top of Chhukung glacier. Island Peak climbing in Nepal doesn’t require previous climbing experience but you must be active, physically fit and fine as well mentally well prepared thinking “I can do it”. If you have some knowledge and ideas upon some climbing equipment’s, gears and safety knowledge, climates and weather before starting this adventure will be far better. Everest Base Camp trek with Island Peak climbing is designed for those adventure seekers who wish and commitment for both trekking and climbing experience at once. EBC trek with Island peak climbing is of fewer difficulties with challenging adventure which is suitable on the month between March to May and September to November. 

Our Island Peak climbing with Everest Base Camp trek journey begins with a sightseeing of world heritage sites enlisted in UNESCO at Kathmandu valley. We take a short and scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. We start our trek from Lukla into Khumbu region following beautiful Sherpa village of Phakding, Monjo and Jorsalle and Dudh Koshi River to reach famous Namche Bazar- gateway town to Everest region. After proper rest with acclimatization we will be heading towards higher elevation following beautiful woodlands of rhododendron and oaks forest to famous village of Tengboche. The trials lead you to Pangboche and Pheriche. After acclimatization day at Pheriche, we follow the route through Lubuche, Gorak Shep towards Everest Base Camp. Next, a worthwhile trek leads to the crest of Kalapathar to explore 360 degree panoramic views of Himalayan vistas. After enjoying magnificent views of Mt. Everest and surrounding peaks we continue descend to Lubuche, Dingboche and towards Chhukung valley. 

The Island Peak Climbing voyage started few hour walk from Chhukung to Base Camp. Then we climb up to High Camp and prepare for to attempt to climb an Island peak. We will customize a special climbing session at the High Camp where you will receive training, climbing skills from our highly experienced climbing guides to submit Island peak safely and successfully. The Island Peak Climbing summit day starts very early in the morning with an amazing scramble along with a glacier, snow head walls, and rocky ridge. With a hard work, you will stand on the summit of wonderful Island peak blessings you with glorious views of Ama Dablam, South face of Lhoste, Everest, Makalu, Baruntse, and mighty of peaks almost with the unforgettable sense of achievements in the Himalayas of Nepal. The return trek continues with more striking mountains views, flourishing forested valleys of Tengboche, Namche and Phakding. Lastly, we end our trek at Lukla and take a scenic flight to return Kathmandu.

Note: Each day trekkers have to trek maximum (05-07 hours) which is about (10 km-14 km) per day after the breakfast. But while submitting Island peak your expedition will start early in the morning and expedition time will be longer (10-12 hours) as per weather and climatic condition and your health. While Island Peak climbing, in case the climate and weather may not support. On the other hand, the Lukla flight may also cancel due to climate and weather condition. So, taking care of such risks we have custom made this itinerary adding an option or free day in second last day at Kathmandu on your trip to Everest region. Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,360 m/4,461 ft.) and transfer to Hotel
For the very first day we happily welcome you at Nepal. At Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport on fresh arrival you will be warmly received and greeted by Life Himalaya Trekking representative and then with transfer to your hotels in the Kathmandu. After checking in your hotel rooms and get refreshed and rest of the day you may have short excursion over the main places of Kathmandu. In evening, you will be introduced with your trek guide and try a Nepali cuisine as a welcome dinner hosted by Life Himalaya Trekking. Overnight stay at star rated Hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 02: Sightseeing tour at Kathmandu Valley and trip preparation.
A free day in Kathmandu after your long flight from home countries, after having breakfast at given time our City guide will pick you up for sightseeing tour around Kathmandu which are enlisted in World Heritage Sites in UNISCO including Pashupatinath Temple, Buddhanath Sputa, Swyambhunath Stupa and Kathmandu Durbar square. In evening, you will get a briefing and orientation program where our trekking as well climbing guide with a brief information regarding trip and make a trip preparation. Overnight stay at star rated Hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 03: Connect fly to Lukla (2,810 m/ 9,219 ft.) & trek to Phakding (2,640 m/8,661 ft.) 
Today we will start our day with an early morning flight to Lukla after breakfast at Hotel. The 35 minutes scenic flight takes us to Tenzing-Hillary Airport at Lukla, the doorway of the Everest region. Here at Lukla we will introduce you to our Porters and crew members. After a short meeting and introduction with the porters, we start our trekking journey through the beautiful paved footpath passing typical Sherpa’s villages, green valleys along with the Dudh Koshi River until we reach Phakding. Overnight at tea house in Phakding.
Day 04:  Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m/11,286 ft.)
After breakfast our trek begins with a gentle walk to Benker and Monjo, beautiful settlement of Sherpa people along with Dudh Koshi River. Crossing the suspension bridge, the trek continues to ascend entrance to Sagarmatha National Park, exploring the first sights of the Mt. Thamasekru and Everest panoramas. We trek through uphill and able to see Mt. Everest and Lhoste for the first time before reaching Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is pretty big town and considered as the gateway of Khumbu or Everest region; built on a steep mountain bowl with excellent views of the Himalayas with every facilities like restaurants, banks, and shops etc.  Overnight at tea house in Namche Bazaar.
Day 05:  Rest day at Namche Bazaar and excursion Namche and Syangboche (3,880 m/12,726 ft.)
We stay in Namche Bazaar for two nights, to ensure proper altitude acclimatization. The day is reserved for the acclimatization process where you will spend on full day higher altitude environment. After lunch, we will short hike towards Everest view hotel from where you can see the close-up views of Mt. Ama Dablam (6,812 m) and panoramic view of the world highest mountains incluging Mt. Everest. We also have a chance to explore the tradition and culture of the Sherpa people. Today is one more option for you; if you who want to hike for a little longer you may hike to Khumjung village (5-6 hours) or you can also visit the Edmund Hillary School and Khumjung Monastery. Then we back to Namche again, and enjoy beautiful town as well take some rest and prepare for next day. Overnight stay at tea house at Namche Bazaar.
Day 06: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,870 m/12,696 ft.)
The day begins after breakfast with short hike to Kenjoma from where the trail to Gokyo Lake and Everest Base Camp separates. The trail goes steep up through Dudh Koshi River and beautiful forests land with an impressive views of snow-capped mountains like Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kwangde peak with numerous mind-blowing villages towards Tengboche. Tengboche is another magnificent village of Khumbu region with a charming spot of close views of world’s beautiful peak Ama Dablam. After reaching Tengboche, you will visit renowned biggest Buddhist Tengboche monasteries with daily praying of Buddhist monks in the region. Overnight stay at tea house in Tengboche. 
Day 07: Trek from Tengboche to Pheriche (4,280 m/14,041 ft.)
Today our day begins visiting the Buddhist monasteries in the morning before breakfast. Our day begins with short hike passing through lush green Rhododendron forests to reach the village of Pangboche. Pangboche a traditional Sherpa village and also popular as home of many Everest climbers. Then walking for a while, we will reach Orsho and from here the trail to Pheriche and Dingboche separates. After few hours of hike, we will reach Pheriche, beautiful village located on a riverside. Phereche is the small village which is popular stop for trekkers and climbers where we spend our night there. Overnight at tea house in Pheriche.
Day 08: Rest day at Pheriche for acclimatization and excursion
Today we stop here to ensure proper altitude acclimatization. For staying active is very compulsory as well important on a high altitude trek. Climbing high and sleeping low is considered as good way to acclimatize with your body so that there will not any altitude sickness problems during your trip.  Today we will visit a Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA) rudimentary hospital to check up with a mountain specialist and hike upon a hills and back for a proper rest. Overnight at tea house in Pheriche. 
Day 09:  Trek from Pheriche to Lobuche (4,930 m/16,170 ft.)
Our trek starts with a short easy hike towards Duglha. The trail is steep and trial consists of numerous huge rocks and yaks will be passing nearby in the high altitude till Lobuche. Now, we are in mountain land, so we get tiredness is normal walk. The trail continues to the Khumbu glacier moraine with an impressive views of several peaks such as Khumbuste, Pumori, Nuptuse, and Everest and so on. Lobuche is the small settlement containing only few houses and lodges in Khumbu region near Mt. Everest. Overnight stay at tea house in Lobuche.
Day 10: Trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,170 m/16,961 ft.) and hike towards Everest Base Camp (5,364 m/17,598 ft.) and back to Gorak Shep 
Today is most exciting days in our adventure trek towards the Everest Base Camp. After breakfast our trek begins with a gentle walk from Lobuche towards Gorak Shep; one of the adventurous place in Everest region. Once we reach Gorakshep we will keep our belongings in the lodge and had lunch and start our hiking to Everest Base Camp. The trial from Gorakshep to Everest Base Camp includes rocky dunes, moraine and short ups and downs hills covered with snow all the way. We enjoy spectacular Mt. Everest, Pumori, Khumbuste, Nuptse, Lhotse along with natural splendor of Khumbu Glacier; one of the biggest glacier in world in front our eyes. After finishing our activities around the Everest base camp we will return through same trail to Gorakshep for night’s stay. Overnight stay at tea house in Gorakshep. 
Day 11: Hike from Gorak Shep to Kalapathar (5,545 m/18,192 ft.) and trek via Dingboche (4,360m/14,304 ft.) to Chhukung (4,743 m/15,560 ft.)
Early morning climb from Gorak Shep to top of Kalapatthar (5,545 m) which is one of the best view points in the Everest region. From Kalapatthar we can enjoy the incredible 360 degree panoramic views of snow-capped mountains with vibrant sunrise. We can enjoy the incredible view of Mt. Everest, Lhoste, Nuptse, Khumbuste, Pumori, Khumbu Glacier, Ama Dablam, and Everest Base Camp and so on. Then we trek down to Gorak Shep and had a breakfast. Then we descend leaving Lobuche and trek towards Dingboche continuing with a beautiful landscape, walled path and river valley. Then we continue our trek towards the beautiful valley of Chhukung- the gateway to Island Peak Climbing. Chhukung is a small settlement of Sherpa’s located exactly at the lap of beautiful peaks Ama Dablam and Imja Tse. Overnight stay at tea house in Chhukung. 
Optional: Trek from Lobuche via Kongma-La pass (5535m/ 18150ft) to Chhukung (4,743m/15,560ft.) 
If you want something challenging and risky you may follow the route with kongma-La pass. If you do want to follow the Lubuche-Dingboche-Chhukung route, you can undertake another route with great adventurous pass Kongma-La pass towards to Chhukung. Life Himalaya especially run trek through Lubuche-Dingboche because another route with Kongma la pass is quite difficult after the devastating Earthquake on 2015. So, taking care of your health we suggest to follow another route. 
Day 12: Trek from Chhukung to Island Peak Base Camp (5,087 m/16,690 ft.)
Today is the most important day also a prime attraction of yours trip. You will be granted with a fantastic sense of achievements along with spectacular lifetime experience in the Himalayas of Nepal. Today you will meet with the climbing staff members and climbing guide. Our guide will brief you regarding the climbing. You may also discuss your queries and take climbing instruction from our climbing guide.  We will also check all the necessary climbing gear and equipment’s and start our trek towards the Island Peak Base Camp following a fairly pleasant trial. The trial leads by our climbing guide along with team towards south, leading the main valley in the east. Then the trial becomes glacial as it crosses Imja and Lhoste glacier moraine towards the Base Camp where we set our camp for the day with a magnificent view of the south face of Island peak. Overnight stay at tented camp in Island Peak Base Camp. 
Day 13: Pre-climb training and trek from Island Peak Base Camp to High Camp (5,600 m/18,400 ft.)  
Today we climb up to High Camp and prepare for to attempt to climb an Island peak. We will customize a special climbing session (pre-climbing training) before reaching the High Camp where you will receive training, climbing skills from our highly experienced climbing guides to submit Island peak safely and successfully. After training, we start the climb up the peak making our way through the narrow slopes. After 2-3 hours difficult climb we finally take you to the high camp of Island Peak where we stop for a night at tented camp. At high camp, we re-check the required equipment’s again such as climbing boots, ice-axe, and all necessary clothing to secure for our next day summit towards Island peak. Overnight stay at tented camp in Island Peak High Camp. 
Day 14: High Camp to Island Peak Summit (6,189 m/20,305 ft.) and back to Island Peak Base Camp and trek to Chhukung (4,743 m/15,560 ft.)
Today is the most important day of trip on our actual destination- Island peak (6,189 m/ 20,305 ft.). The Island Peak Climbing summit day starts very early in the morning with an amazing scramble along with a short rock steps, glacier, snow head walls, rocky ridge and icy 40 degree slopes. With a hard work, you will stand on the summit of wonderful Island peak blessings you with glorious views of Ama Dablam, South face of Lhoste, Lhoste middle peak, Lhoste Shar, Everest, Makalu, Baruntse, and mighty of peaks almost with the unforgettable sense of achievements in the Himalayas of Nepal. We enjoy at our final destination taking a life time memorable snap shots and descend towards High Camp. Then we collect all the remaining gears and trek all the way towards the beautiful village of Chhukung. Overnight stay at tea house in Chhukung.
Day 15: Trek from Chhukung to Tengboche (3,870 m/12,696 ft.)
After having breakfast, the trial heads towards Dingboche and then Pangboche through lush green Rhododendron and pine forest. The trail goes steep down beautiful landscape with an impressive views of snow-capped mountains like Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kwangde peak with numerous magnificent village of Khumbu region. At Tengboche, you will visit again renowned biggest Buddhist Tengboche monasteries and explore the lifestyle, custom, traditions of the Sherpa’s people. Overnight stay at tea house in Tengboche. 
Day 16: Trek from Tengboche to Monjo (2,835 m/9,301 ft.)
Today we trek from Tengboche towards the Namche Bazaar. After lunch at Namche, we continue through the hillside following the rhododendron and pine forests looking out the flora and fauna as well as weldlife of Himalayan region. After crossing the suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi River, our trail follows towards Jorsale and descend to Monjo. Overnight stay at tea house in Monjo. 
Day 17: Trek from Monjo to Lukla (2,810 m/ 9,219 ft.)
Today is our last day our trekking where we make the final climb up to the airstrip at Lukla after a short walk passing through typical Sherpa’s villages. We move down steeply to the large suspension bridge over the Dudh Kosi River. We walk passing through pine and rhododendron forest, with varieties of environment and landscapes used earlier to descend Pkahding. We return back to Lukla- the doorway of the Everest region where we stay for overnight and enjoy the last night on Himalayas with the guide, crew members, Sherpa’s and porters. Overnight stay at tea house in Lukla.
Day 18: Fly back to Kathmandu (1,360 m/4,461 ft.) and transfer to hotel
Today last day with your Sherpa porter so, if you are happy with their services you may give them some gratitude. Then we take the earliest possible flight back to Kathmandu with the long-lasting memories of our successful trip completion. We enjoy short and scenic 35 minutes breathtaking flight to Kathmandu. Upon your arrival at domestic Airport in Kathmandu our representative or guide will take you towards your respective hotels where you can relax and take rest. Overnight at star rated hotel in Kathmandu. 
Day 19: Free day at Kathmandu Valley for Shopping, Massage etc.
Today is the free day at Kathmandu. You can utilize your time exploring other areas of Kathmandu cities such as Narayanhiti museum, Durbarmarg, Thamel, Busy market Ason, and so on. If you want to buy a souvenir shopping for your friends and family members this day will be effective for you. Our guides can help you with both souvenirs shopping, sightseeing as well take you to Himalayan herbal message house. In evening, there will be farewell dinner organized by Life Himalaya Trekking after the successful summit of Island peak climbing with Everest base camp trek along with the crew members and guides. On this meeting you may give some gratitude’s if you are happy with their services. Overnight stay at star rated hotel in Kathmandu. 
Day 20: Farewell and Final Departure.
Today is your final day in Nepal. Your trek guide will transfer you to the International Airport, approx. three hours before prior to your flight schedule with a warm farewell hoping to see you again in Nepal and join our company. If you have much more time and willing about other activities like Rafting, Jungle Safari, Paragliding, and Bungee Jumping, tour in famous cities in Nepal then we will assist you as per your recommendation too.
